The Cult is a hard rock band formed in 1981. The band was previously known as Death Cult and Southern Death Cult before settling on the Cult to play down their goth rock roots. By the band’s third album, they had almost all but shed their goth rock sound for a more straight forward hard rock one. The band has released eight studio albums, two EPs, two live albums, and various greatest hits compilations.
