Named after the third album by American quasi-hair metal act Extreme, Porno Graffitti were started by Haruichi Shindo in Innoshima, Japan. Rounding out the lineup were Akihito Okano and Masami Shiratama. Their first single, "Apollo," was released in 1999, and the band went on to high-selling releases afterwards.
